Gordonsville and Smith Co. High Schools hosted their annual football homecoming parades on Friday, September 10th.

Each school held their respective parades on Gordonsville and Carthage’s Main Streets. Each parade featured students, school organizations, homecoming courts and the homecoming queen from each school.

American Legion Post 57 remembered the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks with a special ceremony held at the Historic Smith County Courthouse.

Post 57 Commander, Jon Henry, made opening remarks and introduced several guest speakers. Among the guest speakers was former New York City police officer John Bierra. Bierra served in New York City on September 11, 2001, and the months following the attacks on the World Trade Centers. Presently, John Bierra is an officer at the Carthage City Police Department.

Other special guest speakers included Post 57 Vice Commander Joe Stout, Smith County Mayor Jeff Mason, and Carthage Mayor Sarah Marie Smith.

First, World Tennis with Harry Cicma comes to DTC3. Join Harry Cicma’s coverage of the biggest names and events in tennis with exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes action. Catch World Tennis with Harry Cicma Sundays at 5:00 PM, Tuesdays at 6:30 PM, and Thursdays at 6:00 PM on DTC3.

 

Next, DTC3 will be airing the championship games of the Inaugural 360 Hoops Invitational held at DME Sports Academy in Orlando, Florida. 360 Hoops is a three-on-three, three-basket variation of basketball, including a versatile design that engages more athletes in a smaller space. Watch this special airing Tuesdays at 7:00 PM and Saturdays at 6:00 PM through the end of July.

DTC3 is proud to welcome a brand-new show starting Friday, June 4, 2021, called Cultivating Communities with UT Extension, a television series produced by UT Extension-Smith County.

 

Join hosts Katie Martin and Chris Hicks as they travel the Upper Cumberland to introduce you to local farmers, families, and extension agents.
