As the NCAA Tournament Final Four is now set, a new leader has emerged in the DTC Pick-It March Mania Challenge. With a total of 740 points and 45 correct picks out of the 60 games played to date, Tony Young has ascended to the top of the standings. There are a total of 129 contestants participating in this year's challenge. Young has a 20-point lead over three second place participants. Last week's co-leader, Ethan Powell, is one of those three, each with 720 points, along with Tracy Lawrence and Virgil Duggin. Powell has correctly picked 46 winners out of 60 games. Lawrence has 45 correct picks, while Duggin has 44. Each individual game is assigned a point value, and the values increase in each round of the tournament.
Five other contestants are next in line with 700 points each. That group includes Maurice Powell, Wallace Bryan, Larry Bartlett, Wendy Moss and Buddy Curtis. Powell has correctly picked 46 winners, Bryan has pegged 45, Bartlett and Moss each have 44 correct picks, while Curtis has nailed 43 winners.
The Final Four will be played on Saturday, April 1, with surprising #7 seed South Carolina taking on #1 seed Gonzaga, while fellow top seed North Carolina will battle third-seeded Oregon. The winners of those two games will play in the championship game on Monday night, April 3, in Glendale, Arizona.
At the conclusion of the tournament, prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in the DTC Pick-It March Mania Challenge. First place wins a $200 Visa Gift Card, second place gets a $100 Visa Gift Card, while third place receives. a $50 Visa Gift Card, all courtesy of DTC Communications.
